So, I've been growing my hair for quite some time now but am finding myself really hating it. I did this before, after I had my son. I had grown it past my shoulders but hated how it styled. It just wasn't me. I had had long hair in high school, past the middle of my back, but drastically cut it to these awful spikes that I wore for several years until growing it out to an A-line stacked bob, or as my friends like to call it, "The Shantel!" Being a hairstylist I am always wanting to change my hair. It all started in my beauty school days when experimenting was part of the fun of learning to actually do hair.
I'm debating this change because I'm being told that fat people have no business having short hair, that it doesn't look good. So are they telling me that I have never looked good with short hair? I seem to remember getting stopped where ever I was and being told that my hair was so cute. My husband has witnessed this on several occasions. He has even commented on how men would NEVER stop each other and tell them how cute they are, so why do women? Women are always in search of the perfect hair, makeup, clothes, etc. We want to look good, no matter what age, size or whatever. And every woman is beautiful no matter what age, size or whatever.
Anyway, now that I am done with my tangent, here is what I am looking at doing.
... and here it is styled up a little differently.
I am making healthy lifestyle changes and feel that a new haircut is in order to go with my new attitude about myself and life.

I like it! I always think that I want to grow my hair our long, but when it's long I never do anything to it! Go for it! :)

You have great hair, Shantel. And...most importantly, you know ways to fix your hair whatever the length. I think that style would look great on you.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
